Saturday Short

Today's short is the trailer for the documentary The Genius of Marian (2013) by directors and producers Banker White and Anna Fitch. The very personal and deeply touching film shows us the tragedy of Alzheimer's disease, an as-yet incurable disease, the importance of family bonds, and the extraordinary toll disease takes on caregivers. The subject is Pamela White, diagnosed in 2009, age 61, who was writing a book about her mother, the award-winning impressionist landscape, portrait, and marine painter Marian Williams Steele (1912-2001), who herself died of complications from the disease. White's son, filmmaker Banker White, seeks thereafter to help his mother complete her project.
