✦ The collaborative pop-up art/design/entertainment fair Kiosk PVD, Providence, Rhode Island, will be showcasing work comprising recycled and repurposed materials in "Treasure Recovery: A Guided Recycled Art Hunt and Design Marketplace", August 27, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

✦ Just one more day to view the solo show "Maggie Matthews: Colour and Light" at Cornwall Contemporary, Cornwall, England. I featured a selection of images of Matthews's abstract paintings in one of my Artist Watch columns in 2015. Cornwall Contemporary represents the artist (see Matthew's Artist Page). Congratulations, Maggie!

✦ Below is a look at preparations for the 2016 Paper Biennial at Museum Rijswijk in The Netherlands. This year's show, which continues through September 18, focuses on large paper installations. Handmade paper art also is featured. All continents except South America are represented in the exhibition. Five of the exhibiting artists are from the United States: Lauren Fensterstock (Colorless Field, 2016), Paul Andrew Hayes, Karen Margolis, Mia Pearlman, and Annie Vought. An illustrated catalogue, authored by art historian Frank van der Ploeg, accompanies the exhibition.

✭ New York City's Morgan Library is presenting "Dreams in Dust: The Pastels of Lucas Samaras" through August 21. The exhibition showcases art dealer  and film producer-director Arne Glimcher's gift to The Morgan of 48 works dating 1958-1983, including self-portraits, nudes, still lifes, interiors, and seascapes. Samaras collaborated with The Morgan on the show's conception. A selection of images is available at the exhibition link above.

✭ The New Mexico Museum of Art, Santa Fe, has launched a rotating series called "Alcoves 16/17" that will feature 35 New Mexico artists over a year. Currently up for "Alcoves 16/17.3" is the art of photographer Christina Dallas, sculptor Tom Joyce, mixed-media artist Eliza Naranjo Morse (Santa Clara Pueblo), painter Heidi Pollard, and photographer Cecilia Portal. This third exhibition runs through August 14.

The first exhibition in the series, "Alcoves 16/17.1", featured work by Bonnie Lynch, Gloria Graham, Scott Anderson, Scott Greene, and Herb Lotz; the second, "Alcoves 16/17.2" showcased Philip Augustin, Stephen Davis, Katherine Lee, Walter Robinson, and Jack Slentz. The series will conclude in March 2017.

✭ In Overland, Kansas, on the campus of Johnson County Community College, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art continues through September 18 "Super Indian: Fritz Scholder 1967-1980". More than 40 of Scholder's monumental paintings and lithographs are on view. The exhibition, which was organized by and shown earlier at the Denver Art Museum, is arranged thematically to allow viewers to trace the development of Scholder's style and themes, techniques, and influences.

A second exhibition, also running through September 18, is "Supper Club by Scott Anderson", which presents Anderson's process-based paintings on the subject of food. Anderson is scheduled to speak about his work on September 15 in the museum's Hudson Auditorium.

✭ More than two dozen works from the permanent collection of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Missouri, are on view in "Drip, Splatter, Wash: American Watercolor, 1860-1960". Complementing the 29 watercolors in Gallery 214 are paintings, sculptures, and decorative art objects. The exhibition continues through November 20.

✭ A selection of decorative and utilitarian ceramics from the Fred L. Mitchell Collection may be seen in "American Art Pottery" at Maryhill Museum of Art, Goldendale, Washington. The small exhibition, which remains on view through November 15, includes ceramics from such makers as Roseville, Rookwood, and Weller.
